Personally I find it very interesting to read how people react to this crisis. Most people are angry, but what actions do they take? Move their rings, delete their rings, send out messages to their members, start a private discussion group or sit back and wait what happens. It tells us a lot about how the managers feel about their rings, which ones they value most and how they feel about WebRing.
Unfortunately there is more to this than just a psychological experiment, major changes are going to take place. As a matter of fact changes have started already as people are deleting rings or putting them up for adoption. And is it true rings are being taken away from people involuntarily already? How come? Did they click one of the membership-buttons?
I will have to make choices myself too. Apart from the single ring I own myself there are about three I find too valuable to disappear. I can only adopt one. So which one will it be? I don't know yet.
Webring management says everything can still be changed. Maybe they would consider increasing the number of rings and memberships for each type of account by at least 100%. That would take away my pain and reduce the pain others are suffering a lot.
