Turning off pop-under ads--Does anyone know the answer - 01/08/2009
You can turn off pop-ups in certain browsers (not in the operating system such as Windoze), especially Firefox. It doesn't kill all of them reliably, but it will kill about three before it lets one through. On the top list of controls, click on tools. Select options and then content. It will give you a place to check to block popups. Then click OK. If you're using IE, I can't help you, and I warn you that now there is a HUGE security gap, and if you don't want bad stuff to happen to your computer, you should refuse to use it until further notice, especially when you're looking at lots of new web sites as a manager.

We think Mr Softy fixed teh IE bug, but you have to have the latest and greatest (we think). As for pops it seems somewhat hit and miss. Most modern browsers do a decent job abuot the angelfire free-site type pops, but other ones can be trickier.
